Q&A: Do I use Senior Reps? | Montgomery AL Senior Photography | Nicole Marie Portraits

So, every photographer that interacts with seniors usually has a senior rep program that gives discounts or print credits toward the session. Sometimes those programs can get really complicated and you have to apply to be a rep and have certain qualifications to meet.

Way too complicated for me! So here is how I offer something different:

1) Every senior that has a portrait session with me is a senior model for me. No applications to fill out!

2) Instead of referrals for print credits or discounts I’m offering CASH. For realz. Major cash (in the form of a prepaid Visa card) For every senior that I complete a session with and purchases a collection that referred your name I will give you a $100 Visa gift card. How is that for a reward?

Imagine how quickly you could earn back your senior portrait session, or maybe go shopping or cash for a Spring Break trip to the Beach?:)

With your session you’ll receive senior model cards, be sure to share to earn big money!!!

Fab Find Friday: Cargo Eyelighter | Montgomery AL Senior Photography | Nicole Marie Portraits

It’s time for another Fab Find Friday! Today I’m sharing this nifty little eyelighter by Cargo:

I got this little stick at Sephora for around $20 and it looks like you can get one at Ulta as well. It comes in 3 colors, gold, white pearl, and pink pearl so I chose the gold because I didn’t want something that was too extreme for day to day wear (I think the model in the above picture is wearing the white and the gold is no where near as  . . . bright. . . LOL)

It has two ends and the product is actually in the lids for the sponge applicator so everytime you take the lid off the product is freshly applied. The reason there are two ends is because it has a shimmer end and a matte end. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the matte side for daytime wear and just a bit of the shimmer side in the inner eye corner (you know where that little dark area is.)

I don’t put it on the upper brow like in the picture, I think that’s a little much, don’t you?

I’ve only had this for a few weeks but I think it will last for a long time and it’s one of my favorite items right now.

Go give it a try!

Why Black and White Conversion is Important | Montgomery AL Senior Photography | Nicole Marie Portraits

Did you know there is a fine art to a good black and white conversion? It’s more than just clicking a button. When done right you can have some amazing results, when done wrong you can have nasty dull images.  Some people use the free consumer editing software to convert and the results are. . . well, without trying to be rude, AWFUL. I know you’ve seen some of those floating around on Facebook.  My clients receive complimentary conversions of every color image that they see.  Here is an example:

Original Edited Color Image

Flat Black and White Conversion

Custom Black and White Conversion to Preserve Rich Tones and Depth

Product Feature: Senior Model Cards | Montgomery AL Senior Photography | Nicole Marie Portraits

These little cards are so unexpectedly amazing! Instead of handing out wallets to your friends these are a trendy new way to share your favorite pictures.

They can include your name, your graduation year, your school, and if you want, you can include your email address and phone number and turn these into social cards which is a totally unique way for people to get in touch with you.

The best part about these model cards is that they are printed on a pearl card stock and these pictures do not do justice to how gorgeous they look in person.

They come with a neat little storage tin which is perfect for throwing in your purse.
