FAQ

What is the Session Fee and why is it necessary?

The session fee covers the time and talent of the photographer, digital processing/editing of 30 proofs and the professional hair styling and makeup application.

How much do your prints cost?

I decided that I would offer something a bit different for products–instead of offering a 4×6 for $xx and a 5×7 for $xx. I decided that I would offer a gift print sized at 8×12 (perfect for desks, dressers, counters, etc) and include the low resolution file for my clients to print unlimited wallets and small prints of that image.  A gift print is $40 and includes the file and a print release.  Please contact me for the full pricing guide of my collections and product offerings.

Is there a time limit or outfit limit?

No. . .  but, I’ve found that a shoot generally last around 2 hours and its usually 3 outfit changes. If we are having an awesome session and get done after an hour and a half, that is great, but if its taking longer because weather conditions or moving to a new location I’m not going to say “Oh! Your two hours is up! Sorry!” So no time limits but I do encourage my clients to plan for shooting for around 2 hours.  As for outfits, I request at least three for variety but you can bring more and be sure to bring accessories too!

“I compared your offerings to John Doe Photographer and  . . .

And that photographer offers this product or is priced differently, etc etc” There are some amazing photographers around the Montgomery area.  Everyone is priced to meet their needs to run their business, they offer the products that best suite their photography and they all have different styles. Your goal as a client is to find the photographer whose style you identify with and then you should decide how much you can invest in custom portraits.  You just have to find your happy place and find a photographer that meets your needs for that.

Why do you only shoot seniors? Will you shoot my family/ wedding/ baby/ pet?

I am a big big (big) believer in “jack of all trades, master of none” and I would rather be awesome at one specialty than mediocre in several.  As I’ve already said, there are amazing photographers around Montgomery who specialize in families, weddings, babies, and pets. You don’t go to a general practice doctor when you have a specific ailment, you go to a specialist right? I specialize in seniors and will happily recommend other photographers for other genres.

Where do you shoot? Can we shoot at my grandparents’ lake property/ uncle’s old barn/ etc?

I have several locations in the tri-county area to shoot at for a wide variety but if you have a special location that you think might be great for your images let me know! I also offer a special session rate for a unique location outside of the River Region for special locations for my clients that are looking for something different from everyone else’s portraits.

How do I make an appointment?

When you are ready to book your session just shoot me an email (or a phone call) and I will give you a some available dates to choose from. I’ll send you my online contract which you will need to read through and sign and then you’ll prepay your session fee online so I can mark you down in the calendar and reserve your date.
